The Illinois gambling Board (IGB) has authorized the Hard Rock Casino in Rockford to operate a sportsbook, marking a significant development for the state of Illinois’ gambling sector. With this permission, the state’s ability to provide more sports betting options will advance significantly.

Using the name Hard Rock Casino Rockford, 815 Entertainment, LLC has been granted a master sports wagering operator license by the IGB. Seminole Hard Rock Digital LLC was also given a management service provider license by the IGB, allowing them to run both retail and online sportsbooks.
The single qualifying applicant and successful bidder for an online-only sports gambling license under section 25-45 of the Illinois Sports gambling Act emerged from the competitive selection process as DGC IL LLC. DGC IL LLC will go through the typical licensing and suitability evaluation process when the selection process is over.
The IGB also approved more than 230 additional gaming licenses and related permits for other facets of the gaming business, in addition to the sportsbook authorization. This covers new license applications as well as license renewals for sports betting, video gaming, and casino gambling.
Illinois has nine sportsbooks, over 8,400 licensed video gaming locations, and 13 casinos.
