Fanatics and Boyd Gaming Partner Up for Missouri Sports Betting Launch

Share

Missouri is preparing to join the sports betting map later this year, and Fanatics Betting and Gaming has secured its spot with help from Boyd Gaming. The two companies have agreed to a multi-year partnership that will bring both retail and online sportsbooks to the state in December 2025, pending final approval from regulators.

Good to know

  • Fanatics will operate sportsbooks inside Boyd Gaming’s Ameristar Casino Kansas City and Ameristar Casino St. Charles.
  • Retail books will cover major leagues including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and UFC.
  • Missouri’s direct sports betting licenses cost $500,000, while indirect ones are priced at $250,000.

The agreement means that Fanatics will expand its reach by opening branded retail sportsbooks inside two of Boyd’s casinos. Sports fans in Kansas City and St. Charles will find new betting lounges designed to cover all the top leagues, with markets priced and managed directly by Fanatics’ in-house team.

On the digital side, Fanatics will also roll out its online sportsbook across the state once the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) signs off.

The partnership comes at a time when the Missouri market is taking shape. Just earlier in August, the MGC granted direct licenses to DraftKings and Circa Sports, while FanDuel struck its own deal with St. Louis City SC to gain access.

Direct licenses allow operators to enter the market without tying up with a casino or sports team. They come at a higher cost of $500,000, while indirect licenses, priced at $250,000, require partnerships to get operations running.

Missouri’s official launch date is set for December 2025, and competition is already heating up. DraftKings and Circa Sports will enter through their new direct approvals, FanDuel has linked with an MLS team, and now Fanatics joins the mix with Boyd Gaming’s established casino presence.

The variety of licensing paths shows how the state is structuring its market — a balance between casino partnerships and direct-to-market entries. For players, it means more choice in both retail and mobile betting.
