Dogecoin on the Sleeves of Watford F.C. as Part of Stake.com Sponsorship

Share

Following a multi-year agreement announced in July, crypto sports betting site Stake.com, has become the Watford FC’s principal shirt sponsor as the club has returned to the Premier League.

Now adding to this, players from the English football team will start wearing Dogecoin on the sleeves of their shirts during the 2021/2022 season. In a first time for Dogecoin to appear on the pitch of national football league, Watford F.C. started their season opener against rivals Aston Villa with a 3-2 win.

To add some more excitement to the beginning of the partnership, Stake will be running multiple crypto-themed initiatives, including a 10 million Dogecoin giveaway on their international platform. In addition, UK audiences can expect multiple other promotions and giveaways as Stake launch their UK website, Stake.co.uk.

The Stake.com deal is not Watford’s first crypto sponsorship. During the 2019/2020 season, the team had a deal with sports betting site Sportsbet.io, who are currently tied with Southampton.

While the Stake.com deal is to be paid for in cryptocurrency, rumors have already appeared on the club’s online forum that possibly the deal would be honored in Dogecoin.
