Dazn Bet, a well-known online sports betting and casino operator, has been granted permission to offer sports betting services in Germany. The approval is a huge step forward for both the operator and the country’s sports betting industry.

Dazn Bet is a subsidiary of Dazn, a well-known sports media streaming service. The operator was founded in April 2022 as a consequence of a strategic agreement with Pragmatic Gaming. Notably, it has now been included to Germany’s white list of approved operators, demonstrating its legitimacy and compliance.

Joining the ranks of esteemed operators such as Jackpot50, 888, and Tipico, Dazn Bet’s inclusion on the white list underscores its commitment to adhering to regulatory standards and providing a secure and responsible betting environment for its users.

Operating under the domain Daznbet.de and registered in Malta, Dazn Bet is poised to leverage its expertise to offer a diverse range of sports betting opportunities to German users. The authorization comes as a result of Germany’s Fourth State Treaty on Gambling (GlüNeuRStv), which introduced the regulatory framework governing gambling activities in the country.

The establishment of the Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL), Germany’s gambling regulator, has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of gambling within the nation. Established in July 2022, the GGL has taken on the mantle of overseeing various aspects of the industry, from issuing licenses to tackling the pressing issue of illegal gambling activities within the country.

The GGL’s proactive stance on regulation is evident in its concerted efforts to combat unlicensed operators. Its recently released annual report, unveiled in June, shed light on the presence of 203 unlicensed operators operating via 843 German-language sites as of December 2022. This underscores the regulator’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of the gambling landscape and safeguarding consumers.
