Share

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) has partnered with Fanatics Sportsbook and Sportech Inc. to open a new retail sportsbook at Sportech’s Winners facility in Norwalk. This marks the 11th sportsbook in Connecticut, offering sports enthusiasts a new location for betting. Located just off Interstate 95 at 24 Burnell Blvd., the Norwalk facility boasts top-notch amenities, including betting windows, eight self-service kiosks, and high-definition TVs, making it a prime spot for sports bettors.

A Hub for Sports Wagering

Sports fans visiting the Winners Norwalk location can place bets on various markets such as football, basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, and more. The venue’s grand opening is set for Sunday, November 24, with early betting available starting November 19. Fans will be able to enjoy a comfortable, state-of-the-art environment while wagering on professional and college games across multiple sports.

Operating hours for the Norwalk sportsbook are from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and extended hours on the weekend from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday hours running from 10:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Notably, the Norwalk Common Council recently approved Sunday betting, despite state restrictions requiring local approval, expanding the availability of sports betting in the region.

The Norwalk facility joins a growing network of sportsbooks across Connecticut, including locations at the XL Center in Hartford, Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, and several others. The launch of this new sportsbook is part of CLC’s ongoing strategy to expand its retail betting footprint throughout the state.

Fanatics Sportsbook, which took over as Connecticut’s exclusive bookmaker in December 2023, offers a mobile app for iOS and Android users. The app includes a loyalty program, FanCash, which allows users to earn up to 10% back in credits for bets or merchandise.

Despite the expansion, Connecticut’s sports betting market has experienced mixed results. The XL Center, another Fanatics location, reported a $500,000 loss for the fiscal year, a situation partly attributed to the transition between vendors. However, CLC’s director of sports betting, Andrew Walter, highlighted the importance of these new locations, stating that the organization aims to continue growing its retail presence.
