Caesars Entertainment is making new moves in Oregon’s sports betting scene. Through a new partnership with the Coquille Indian Tribe, Caesars has officially launched retail sportsbook operations at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort in Coos Bay. The launch coincided with the casino’s 30th anniversary celebration on May 19.
Good to know
Visitors to the Coos Bay resort can now place sports bets using Caesars Sportsbook kiosks located across the gaming floor. These kiosks offer a full range of betting options, including live in-play wagers, same game parlays, futures, and player props. While mobile betting is still unavailable in Oregon, guests can enjoy a full retail sportsbook experience on-site.
The first ceremonial wager was placed during the launch event, marking Caesars’ official entry into Oregon’s retail sports betting market.
Caesars Digital President Eric Hession commented on the collaboration, saying, “We remain committed to supporting Indian gaming, and we’re proud to partner with the Coquille Indian Tribe to enhance their guest experience. Bringing our sports wagering offering to a new jurisdiction for the first time is always significant, and we know offering our expansive menu of sports wagering markets will undoubtedly enhance the exceptional experience that the Coquille Indian Tribe provides to its guests.”
The Coquille Indian Tribe operates the Ko-Kwel Casino Resort through the Coquille Economic Development Corporation. Margaret Simpson, the corporation’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership.
“We are proud to have this iconic gaming brand join us, as both brands have represented excellence in the industry for decades. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to advancing gaming opportunities and enhancing guest satisfaction,” Simpson said. “We are excited to collaborate with such a distinguished brand and look forward to creating even more memorable sports wagering experiences for our guests!”
To help ensure proper oversight, Caesars partnered with IC360 in early March to integrate its ProhiBet compliance technology into the sportsbook platform. This system provides real-time alerts and helps monitor for prohibited bettors, such as athletes, league officials, and other restricted individuals.
