Polymarket is discussing another funding round only months after securing capital at a $15 billion valuation. Early talks could bring in about $1 billion and value the prediction market platform above $20 billion.
Good to Know
A completed deal would give Polymarket a valuation increase of at least 33% from its April round. Intercontinental Exchange, owner of the New York Stock Exchange, provided $600 million during that financing, according to earlier reports.
The new talks follow faster activity across both Polymarket platforms. Daily notional volume on the regulated US exchange has climbed above $100 million, while the international platform records more than $150 million.
Polymarket also reported an annualised revenue rate above $1 billion in June, around six weeks after removing the US waitlist. World Cup contracts helped lift trading during that period.
Investor interest now places Polymarket closer to Kalshi in private market value. Kalshi raised $1 billion at a $22 billion valuation earlier in 2026, while later reports said it could seek a valuation near $40 billion in another round.
However, higher valuations arrive while prediction market operators face disputes over sports event contracts. State regulators argue that many contracts function as sports betting, while federally regulated exchanges say Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversight takes priority.
