New Hampshire’s Sports Betting Results for December Show Strong Mobile Performance

Share

According to the New Hampshire Lottery’s December sports betting stats, the handle for the month was $80.8 million. The total decreased by almost $7 million when compared to November’s performance, even if this is a roughly $2 million rise from December of the prior year.

Mobile Betting Dominates the Market

Mobile sports betting led the way, contributing a substantial $71.6 million to the total handle for December. Retail locations also performed well, generating $9.2 million in betting activity. The state’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for December stood at just under $7.4 million. However, this marked a year-over-year decline of approximately $5 million.

Mobile wagering contributed $5.8 million of the total GGR, with retail locations adding just over $1.6 million. The state collected nearly $3.3 million in taxes from sports betting last month, continuing to benefit from the strong performance in both mobile and retail betting markets.

Over the last six months, New Hampshire’s total sports betting handle has gotten close to $418 million. Retail betting has contributed more over $3 million to the current fiscal year’s GGR, while mobile sports betting alone has produced close to $36.9 million.

Since online platforms continue to account for the bulk of wagers, New Hampshire’s sports betting industry continues to be one of the best instances of mobile wagering success. As mobile sports betting activity rises, the state’s favorable tax collection from this industry is anticipated to expand even more.

In New Hampshire, charitable gambling is still allowed even though typical land-based casinos are still prohibited. Limited amounts of table-based and machine-based games are available at venues throughout the state that collaborate with nonprofit operators.
