In the first round of Project Dragon, Yuga Labs broke the Guinness World Record for the most concurrent players in an online first-person shooter with 2,197 players, officially making history. Apes, Meebs, Kodas, Moonbirds, and Voyagers were among the many community members that attended the gathering, as were newcomers who were invited by friends and relatives.
A key factor in this milestone was MSquared, a cutting-edge platform enabling developers to create and link virtual worlds within the metaverse. This technology allows players to move fluidly between different experiences, enhancing engagement. The large-scale test was part of Yuga Labs’ preparations for the Otherside launch in June 2025.
Otherside aims to be a persistent metaverse where games evolve over time. It will feature AI integrations, a developer toolkit, and “always-on” persistent islands, offering a dynamic and immersive virtual world. Following the success of Project Dragon, Yuga Labs teased even more groundbreaking developments for Otherside in the coming months.

Greg Solano, CEO of Yuga Labs, revealed in a related update that Dookey Dash Unclogged will be temporarily discontinued when its first season concludes. In 2024, the mobile game—a follow-up to the browser-based Dookey Dash—was released in partnership with Faraway Games.
However, Yuga Labs has chosen to put Dookey Dash Unclogged on hold in its present iteration as it devotes all of its attention to Otherside. When Otherside launches in June 2025, Solano guaranteed supporters that the game would come back in a new iteration.
