WeMade Invests $7.2 Million in Studio Rasa for Console Game Project IL

Share

WeMade, the South Korean publisher behind the Legend of Mir franchise and the WEMIX blockchain platform, has invested $7.2 million in Studio Rasa, a newly formed development studio focused on console titles. The investment gives WeMade a 25% stake in the studio as well as global publishing rights for its first game, Project IL, scheduled for release in 2028.

Good to know

  • Studio Rasa was founded in June 2025 by award-winning developers Chang Kyu Noh, Tae-yeon Kim, and Hyeon Kim.
  • The team previously won the Grand Award at the 2023 Korea Game Awards.
  • Project IL is in early development and will be a high-end console game.

Studio Rasa is led by CEO Chang Kyu Noh, Project Director Tae-yeon Kim, and Art Director Hyeon Kim. The founding team, already recognized in Korea’s gaming scene, plans to grow its staff and refine the artistic and technical direction of Project IL with support from WeMade. The game remains in prototype stages but is positioned as a premium console release.

WeMade CEO Kwan-ho Park explained the reasoning behind the partnership: the company wants to bring more Korean-developed console games to North American and European markets. Unlike many of WeMade’s recent initiatives tied to blockchain and WEMIX, this deal is focused entirely on traditional console publishing.
