The Beacon’s public playtest has been postponed and will now run from September 4 to 7 on the Epic Games Store, following a delay in the platform’s review process.
Good to know
The roguelite RPG’s developers said the delay was necessary while Epic finalized its approval process. Once live, the client will include updates rolled out during Phase 2, with smoother combat, new power-ups, and redesigned dungeon layouts.
Participants who join during the 4-day event will unlock unique items, including the Adventurer’s Backpack cosmetic and Seeker’s Mantle, which is tied to community events and creator partnerships.
The test marks the end of Beacon’s short-term phases as the game transitions into a seasonal format. Instead of timed testing, players can expect rolling seasons starting in early 2026, each with new content, mechanics, and limited rewards. The first official season is planned for Q1 2026, alongside the debut of online multiplayer and NFT integrations such as Writ of Passage upgrades and pets.
After the test concludes, developers will host a tournament with prizes in partnership with an external sponsor, giving players another chance to engage with early multiplayer and competitive systems.
