Reikon Games has officially announced the new release date for Metal Eden, setting its launch for September 2, 2025. The news came alongside a fresh trailer, giving players another look at the sci-fi action game. Originally slated for May 6, the title was pushed back earlier this year. A demo featuring the game’s first two missions went live in April, giving fans a chance to try it out ahead of release.
Good to know
Published by Deep Silver, Metal Eden puts players in control of ASKA — a hyper unit built from a digitized human psyche. ASKA’s mission is to defend humanity from the oppressive force known as the Engineers. Each time she dies, her mind is streamed back into the NEXUS, allowing her to be rebuilt and sent into the fight again. The game’s loop emphasizes fast combat and trial-by-death progression, built around sci-fi survival.
Reikon describes ASKA’s world as one shaped by a “cybernetic dimension of life,” fitting with the studio’s history of developing stylized, futuristic action games. Metal Eden was first revealed during a Sony State of Play broadcast and marks a return to the studio’s dark sci-fi roots after its debut title RUINER, a critically praised isometric shooter.
Heavily influenced by Doom Eternal, Metal Eden features high-speed movement, platforming, and intense action sequences. The new trailer, which you can watch in the below, highlights those gameplay elements while teasing the narrative’s grim tone and atmosphere.
