Battlefield 6 Beta Begins August 7 With 40K Players Waiting

Share

Battlefield 6 hasn’t officially entered its open beta phase yet, but that hasn’t stopped more than 40,000 players from flooding the server queue. The beta officially begins on August 7 and runs through August 10, with a second phase planned for August 14 to 17. The huge demand is mostly driven by preloading access, which opened early and immediately overloaded EA’s servers.

Good to know

  • Over 40,000 players queued for Battlefield 6 beta before its official launch.
  • Open beta runs August 7–10, with a second phase August 14–17.
  • EA’s new Javelin Anticheat system will be active during beta testing.

PC players joining the beta must enable Secure Boot in their BIOS settings, a requirement EA says is part of its broader anti-cheat approach. Battlefield 6 is the first title to feature EA’s proprietary Javelin Anticheat software, built internally to combat unfair gameplay with real-time protection tools.

Battlefield 6 Beta Overwhelms Servers Before Launch

EA is also testing a skill-based matchmaking system during the beta. According to IGN, the feature may impact how casual matches feel by limiting randomness in public games. Other factors like ping, server availability, and region will also factor into how matches are formed, though exact details are still unclear.

Early access to the beta is available to anyone who signed up for the initial Battlefield Labs playtest — even those who didn’t receive a direct invite. Meanwhile, preorders for the full game are now live on Steam for $69.99, ahead of the October 10 release date.
