A exciting Week One marked the start of the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) League, which included Group Green, the first Group Stage. There were intense clashes throughout the competition, and Loops Esports, Alpha 7 Esports, and Stalwart Esports came out on top. These top teams are guaranteed spots in the PMGC Grand Finals, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, in December.
Group Green ignited the stage, providing an exciting opening to the competition. Securing three Chicken Dinners on the first day and scoring an astounding 198 points to take third, Stalwart Esports proved they were a formidable team. With 38 eliminations, Top from Stalwart Esports, who put on a fantastic performance, was named the Group Green MVP.
Throughout the four days of combat, Loops Esports and Alpha 7, two Brazilian powerhouses, remained dominant. With 220 points, Loops Esports took the place, closely followed by Alpha 7 with 204 points. Now, all three of these outstanding teams have guaranteed themselves a position in the PMGC Grand Finals.
But there was intense competition, with teams outside the top 11 risking elimination. Regretfully, despite their excellent accomplishments, the PMGC said goodbye to Tianba, Team Falcons, BRA Esports, AGi8 Esports, and XERXIA Esports.
Now, eight teams—including Gladiators and Reject Esports—move on to the Survival Stage, where they will encounter a difficult obstacle. At the PMGC Grand Finals, Loops Esports, Alpha 7 Esports, and Stalwart Esports will face off against other groups’ qualifiers as well as those that advance from the PMGC Survival and PMGC Last Chance stages in an attempt to win the title of PUBG MOBILE World Champion.
The 16 teams in Group Red, including FaZe Clan and Nigma Galaxy, will compete for the top three spots in Week Two of the PMGC League. The teams from Group Yellow, which include DRS GAMING, Bigetron Red Villains, and Vampire Esports, will next compete in Week Three to complete the first phase of the 2023 PMGC.
