For £100,000 (about $130,181.50), DCB Sports has successfully acquired all of Guild Esports’ assets, marking a significant development in the esports industry. The esports organization is embarking on a new chapter with this statement, which was delivered via a press release on the London Stock Exchange. The new company, which will take on obligations totaling more than £2 million (or roughly $2,603,630), will be called Guild Esports and Gaming Ltd. To avoid any misunderstanding, the previous company will now be known as Cassel Capital PLC.

Transition and Leadership Changes

This acquisition follows nearly two months of financial challenges for Guild Esports, during which the organization sought various strategies to stabilize its finances. As part of this transition, Jasmine Skee has chosen to resign from her role as CEO. However, non-executive directors Derek Lew and Brian Stockridge will remain to guide the new entity.

The decision to sell came after the directors reviewed the company’s future while attempting to cut costs and secure loans or additional equity. Ultimately, they determined that acquisition was the most viable solution.

Guild Esports: A Brief Overview

Established in 2020, Guild Esports quickly gained prominence as a leading UK-based esports organization, with football icon David Beckham as a co-owner. The organization has made its mark across various competitive games, including titles like Tekken, Apex Legends, and Counter-Strike. Over the years, Guild has partnered with major brands such as Sky and Subway, enhancing its reputation in the esports arena.

Located in California, DCB Sports is an investment management company that specializes in the sports industry. The Italian football team Venezia FC and The Bay Golf Club, which plans to play in the upcoming TGL indoor golf league, are investments in the portfolio. Furthermore, DCB Sports was essential in securing a squad for the 3v3 basketball league, the Big3, located in Los Angeles.
