The highly anticipated web3 game Shardbound’s development team, Bazooka Tango, has formally released the open beta version on Steam and the Epic Games Store. This thrilling advancement comes after the game’s popular 2019 Kickstarter campaign, which attracted over 100,000 players.
Further good news for those who pre-registered. A unique collection of playable cards, consisting of one Rare, one Epic, and one Legendary card, will be given to the players. Players’ Immu accounts will be used to distribute these special cards. Furthermore, as a part of Immutable’s The Main Quest, Shardbound and its co-developer, Immutable, are creating a rewards program. Players can obtain up to 100 gems by finishing different in-game quests; these gems can then be exchanged for Immutable’s IMX token.
Although Shardbound offers a fully playable web2 version, players can also engage with optional web3 features that enhance their gaming experience. By linking a digital wallet, players become eligible for NFT upgrades based on their gameplay during specific periods. However, players must be mindful of time-sensitive windows to avoid missing valuable upgrades.
The upgrade timeline is as follows:
Players can also take part in the Shard and Shield event, where they complete missions to earn additional rewards. Daily play rewards and faction-based events will further enhance players’ card collections, offering a compelling reason to dive into the game.
Bo Daly, co-founder of Bazooka Tango, expressed his enthusiasm for the open beta launch, saying, “Shardbound’s open beta is a huge moment for us, and for the players who’ve been waiting to get in on the action. We’ve always believed in creating games that are fun to play but also have that extra depth for those who want to dig in. This is just the start of what we have planned, and I can’t wait to see how players take the game and make it their own.”
As players embark on this thrilling journey, the combination of traditional gaming and innovative web3 elements positions Shardbound to captivate both casual gamers and hardcore enthusiasts alike.
