The expansion of its payment solutions to Southeast Asian, East Asian, and Pacific markets has been announced by Xsolla, a prominent international video game commerce company. With this calculated action, the goal is to improve payment channel optimization and accessibility in an area that generates 46% of worldwide game revenues.
In the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pakistan, Xsolla is expanding its reach by integrating payment options such as Maya, PayNow, WeChat Pay HK, JazzCash, and Easypaisa. By connecting game creators with over 76 million players, these integrations will improve conversion rates by providing localized payment interfaces.
Maya, the fastest-growing digital bank in the Philippines, tops the Google Play Store and Apple Store in consumer finance. PayNow in Singapore offers real-time payments with universal accessibility, serving over 5 million users. In Pakistan, JazzCash and Easypaisa dominate the digital payment landscape with 18 million and 15 million users, respectively. WeChat Pay HK is a popular mobile payment option in Hong Kong, used by more than 1 million merchants and 5 million residents.
For game publishers targeting international growth, especially in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific regions, Xsolla’s expansion offers invaluable resources. These include advanced technology, local payment solutions, and deep market insights gained from collaboration with local experts.
David Stelzer, President of Xsolla, emphasized the significance of this expansion: “We are unlocking access to five new payment channels across four booming Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Pacific markets, providing game developers with the tools to reach more gamers, improve conversion rates, and increase revenue. These markets are growing faster than the global average, with an annual growth rate of 9.47% compared to the global rate of 8.76%.”
With 54% of global gamers in the APAC region, and mobile penetration rates of 80.5% in Pakistan and over 140% in the other three countries, Xsolla is positioned to facilitate game monetization. The global average for mobile penetration was 69% in 2023, highlighting the exceptional connectivity in these regions.
