Soccerverse, a multiplayer football management simulation blockchain game, has announced a new funding round. Square Enix led this round, contributing to the total of $3.1 million. While Square Enix’s exact investment amount remains unspecified, their involvement is significant.

Hideaki Uehara, General Manager of Investment & Business Development at Square Enix, expressed enthusiasm about Soccerverse, stating, “Soccerverse stands out as the most innovative and unique game using blockchain features in the genre. We’re eager to continue our journey with it, now from the perspective of investors as well as fans.”

Sir Ian Livingstone, a General Partner at Hiro Capital, an early investor in Soccerverse, added, “I dare not think about how many hours I’ve spent playing football management games over the years. I’d lapsed, but Soccerverse will inspire me to play again. The social layer and the investing in players dynamic are compelling new features. I’m looking forward to seeing Manchester City reach new heights!”

Expanding the Soccerverse Experience

This fresh capital will enable Soccerverse to further develop its soccer management simulation. The announcement has generated significant attention, boosting Soccerverse’s PlaytoEarn score and creating a buzz on social media.

Soccerverse is a free-to-play, multiplayer football management game. Players start by creating an account, confirming their email, and selecting an unowned club to manage. However, the game offers more than just club management. Players can become influencers, make decisions on club management, act as player agents, negotiate contracts, and handle player morale. They can also become player influencers, earning based on individual player success.

Soccerverse aims to provide a dynamic and evolving experience. With all roles filled by human players, the game promises constantly changing strategies and tactics. To further community involvement, Soccerverse plans to make its code open source, allowing players to contribute directly to the game’s development.

Square Enix, known for classics like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, is expanding into blockchain gaming. As the gaming giant invests more in Web3, their involvement in Soccerverse highlights their commitment. Square Enix has already ventured into the space with their sci-fi game Symbiogenesis and investments in Hyperplay and the Blockchain Gaming Alliance.

For those interested in the Soccerverse Beta, joining their Discord is recommended. Linking your game account to Discord provides a free starter package, granting influence in your selected club. Players can set themselves as managers, although this functionality unlocks after three days.

The game operates on the Polygon network, requiring a small amount of MATIC for transactions. This setup ensures a smooth and efficient gaming experience.
