Share

Sorare, a free-to-play basketball game built on NFTs, will soon introduce a brand-new season of digital player cards with a unique twist: they’re in 3D and feature augmented reality interactivity. The date of this thrilling launch is set for October 17, 2023.

The much-anticipated 2023–2024 season cards will be released, kicking off a brand-new Sorare season. The game’s lobby will also be opened as part of this launch, making it ready to host the season’s first tournaments. All season 1 cards, however, won’t be in circulation beyond the debut date, according to Sorare.

In tandem with the release of the Season 2 cards, the company has also revamped the card scarcity levels and nomenclature. In a significant change, all non-common cards, including Limited, Rare, Super Rare, and Unique Cards, are now collectively referred to as “Pro Cards.”

Innovative Designs Inspired by Dieter Rams

The creative minds behind the 2023-2024 cards belong to Sorare’s design team. Drawing inspiration from the timeless design philosophy of the legendary product designer Dieter Rams, they set out to seamlessly blend basketball themes with elegant aesthetics. The result? A minimalist and visually striking aesthetic that captures the essence of the game, a product of collaboration between Sorare NBA managers and fans worldwide.

The redesigned season cards include enticing graphic elements in addition to the altered scarcity to stress their collectable nature even more. This adds things like customized Jersey match badges, country flags, and other intriguing embellishments.

In relation to Chet Holmgren and the 2023 NBA lottery choices, Sorare made an intriguing choice. These highly sought-after rookie cards won’t be printed until week 2’s lineups are decided. This tactical choice serves two purposes: it keeps Game Week 1 fair for all managers by preventing rookies with a last 10-game average of zero (L10) from severely affecting scoring. Managers will be able to fine-tune their lineups for Game Week 1 without being hampered by rookie cards because the 2023 lottery choices won’t be accessible until Game Week 3.

This dynamic season promises an exciting fusion of cutting-edge technology and collectible aesthetics, making Sorare a go-to platform for basketball fans and NFT enthusiasts alike.
