The cooperative four-player action RPG, Secrets of Grindea, has finally launched after spending a decade in early access. This game, drawing inspiration from the SNES era, combines nostalgia with modern gaming’s capabilities, offering a rich and varied experience. Players can look forward to meeting over 300 characters, engaging in fully cooperative gameplay, and customizing their play style from 31 available skills. Additionally, the game boasts over 30 boss fights and a variety of minigames, including home design, fishing, crafting, pet taming, and plant growing, alongside an arcade roguelite mode complementing the main story.
Secrets of Grindea first became available in an early access version in 2015, following several years of development and public demos. The developers, Pixel Ferrets, have expressed their gratitude to the community for their support and feedback throughout the 13-year development period. With the official release, the team’s immediate focus will shift to bug fixes before they start work on introducing a New Game+ mode.
In a Steam post marking the release, Pixel Ferrets thanked their long-time supporters and welcomed new players to the community. They acknowledged the role of the community in shaping the game over its development journey, which technically began years before its early access launch in 2015.
