Riot Games and Coinbase have announced a multi-year global partnership that will bring new experiences to fans of League of Legends and VALORANT esports. The deal covers everything from in-game features to exclusive giveaways during major competitions.
Good to know
The agreement names Coinbase as the official cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain partner for League of Legends and VALORANT global esports events. Through this collaboration, both companies will introduce interactive digital features, in-game insights, and community promotions designed to boost fan involvement.
As part of the deal, viewers will see new broadcast segments like “Econ Report” during VALORANT matches and “Gold Grind” in League of Legends. These segments will offer real-time analysis of how each team manages its in-game economy and how that shapes gameplay and strategy.
In addition, fans can look forward to rewards during live events—such as icons and emotes—and opportunities to win all-expense-paid trips to attend the VALORANT Champions Tour or League of Legends Worlds competitions.
The collaboration will also run across various Riot esports events, including the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), Game Changers, and Champions tournaments for VALORANT, as well as Worlds and First Stand for League of Legends.
Riot Games and Coinbase plan to expand the partnership through social media campaigns, digital fan engagement, and integrated tech features. According to Coinbase, the goal is to create “deeper fan experiences” across both esports titles.
Coinbase already works with major sports brands like the NBA, WNBA, Golden State Warriors, and Aston Martin Aramco in Formula One. The partnership with Riot Games signals a stronger focus on the gaming space, especially among digitally native communities.
