Play Solana has officially introduced SuperHUB, a new ecosystem built to merge blockchain technology, DeFi tools, and hardware into one cohesive web3 gaming platform. Announced on October 2, the project aims to make web3 gaming easier, more engaging, and more rewarding for both casual players and blockchain enthusiasts.
Good to Know
Web3 gaming has grown rapidly, but only a small fraction of crypto users play blockchain games regularly. Of the roughly 820 million crypto wallet holders, fewer than 1% engage daily. That’s a tiny number compared to the massive user bases of Roblox (112 million) and Steam (69 million). Play Solana’s team believes the gap exists because of several barriers — from confusing onboarding processes and fragmented ecosystems to games that focus too heavily on monetization instead of fun.
SuperHUB was built to simplify everything. At its core is the PSG1 console, a device that blends familiar gaming hardware with web3 technology. Players can use it as both a game console and a digital wallet. It runs EchOS, an Android-based system designed specifically for gaming, and comes equipped with an octa-core ARM processor, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB of storage. With WiFi 6.0, Bluetooth 5.4, and even a fingerprint scanner, the PSG1 is ready for secure, fast, and flexible gameplay. Priced at $329 (or $349 for special editions), shipping will begin shortly after the launch.
SuperHUB ties everything together — hardware, identity, gameplay, and decentralized finance. The unified library includes both native titles and third-party games. Flagship titles like “Play Solana: Origins” introduce blockchain mechanics naturally through gameplay, helping users learn about NFTs and staking without feeling overwhelmed.
Through integration with Jupiter Mobile Wallet, players can access DeFi features directly from the console — no need for external apps or browser extensions. They can manage tokens, trade assets, and earn rewards all within the same interface.
Identity is another major focus. PlayID, the ecosystem’s cross-platform identity system, connects user profiles, in-game rewards, and reputations across devices. Players keep their progress and digital assets wherever they go. The Play Solana team has also formed creative partnerships with major web3 communities like Pudgy Penguins, producing co-branded hardware and limited events to strengthen player connection through shared culture.
To deepen engagement, Play Solana will launch its $PLAY token on October 13. Early adopters already earn PlayBadges that provide XP points tied to the upcoming airdrop. Tokenomics details are still under wraps, but the team confirmed that $PLAY will drive both ecosystem rewards and in-game utilities.
