Open Loot Refocuses on Game Development With Big Time at the Core

Share

pen Loot, a Web3 gaming ecosystem, has announced a new direction that centers on fewer partnerships and stronger in-house development. The move follows mixed outcomes across its portfolio, with successes like Big Time contrasting with partner projects that struggled to sustain momentum.

Good to Know

  • Big Time delivered $467 million in rewards and 4.3 million gameplay hours in the past year
  • Open Loot is issuing nearly $2.9 million in discount credits for loyal players
  • Several partner titles will depart, with asset withdrawal and migration paths offered

Among Open Loot’s projects, Big Time stands out. Over the last year, players logged more than 4.3 million hours, crafted 7.8 million items, and earned $467 million in rewards. To thank its wider community, Open Loot is distributing $2,914,692 in discount credits to players who made purchases in other Open Loot titles between August 2023 and September 2025. Credits can reduce future purchases by up to 25% when using the platform’s $OL token in Big Time.

As part of the strategy shift, Open Loot confirmed that games like Boss Fighters, Shatterpoint, The Desolation, and Kokodi will exit the ecosystem. Studios will set out their own transition plans, and players will be able to withdraw assets. In some cases, migration options will be available to smooth the process.

Looking Ahead

Open Loot is preparing new releases, including a mobile pet-collecting game linked to the Big Time universe and a cross-platform strategy title. The company also plans to expand the utility of Big Time NFTs, ensuring their relevance in future titles.
