Metacade, known as a hub for gaming, building, and connecting, has released its first independent game, Gangs of Metacadia, on the Base blockchain. This launch combines immersive gameplay with strategic elements, offering players a unique Web3 experience.
Gangs of Metacadia takes players into a neon-lit metropolis where five rival gangs compete for dominance. Players can join a gang by minting its insignia, unlocking access to influence-building, recruitment, and strategic missions. Each gang offers a different set of challenges, making the game both competitive and dynamic.
“In Gangs of Metacadia, you dive into a vibrant, futuristic city where five rival gangs are constantly vying for dominance,” said Russell Bennett, CEO of Metacade. “Players join a gang by minting their insignia, unlocking core features like influence-building, recruitment, and heist planning. With a dynamic gameplay model that taps into all four of Metacade’s core quarters—Play, Build, Connect, and Earn—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a gamer, investor, or builder.”
The game’s strategy-driven design gives players control over their gang’s fate. From recruitment to heist planning, every move counts. Here are the core gameplay elements:
The five gangs—Neon Syndicate, Chrome Serpents, Sewer Rats, Digital Drifters, and Iron Shadows—offer diverse opportunities and challenges, encouraging players to explore different strategies.
The development team at Metacade includes Jamie King, co-founder of Rockstar Games, who serves as an advisor. His involvement adds a layer of expertise to the game’s design. With Gangs of Metacadia, Metacade introduces a game that blends strategy, competition, and rewards, aligning with its Play, Build, Connect, and Earn framework.
The game recently completed its Season 1 testing phase, where more than 700,000 $MCADE tokens were transacted. This activity, equating to over $5,000 during the soft launch, involved over 40 players who tested the game’s core features and gameplay mechanics.
