This November, GAM3S.GG will conduct the first-ever in-person GAM3 Awards ceremony, which is a big step forward for the program. The awards ceremony, which is set to happen during the YGG Play Summit in Manila, Philippines, is intended to honor the accomplishments of web3 gaming pioneers. This collaboration with web3 gaming pioneer Yield Guild Games (YGG), who is also hosting the event, highlights the Philippines’ increasing prominence in the world of gaming.
The hub of web3 gaming will be Manila, the home of YGG, as it attracts leading web3 founders, game developers, and aficionados. The YGG Play Summit is referred to be “the GDC of web3 gaming” because of its extensive celebration of web3 games. A wide range of events, such as a conference, expo, hackathon, and multiple pre-event and side events, will be included in this year’s summit.
The GAM3 Awards, launched in 2022, have become a key platform for recognizing excellence in web3 gaming. The 2024 awards will continue this tradition, with winners determined by a mix of juror evaluations and community votes. Previous awards have seen industry leaders like Xbox Director Agnes Kim and content creator Sam Steffanina on the judging panel. In 2023, over 450,000 votes were cast from more than 50,000 unique voters to select the best games.
Last year’s winners included Parallel, which took home multiple awards such as Game of the Year and Best Strategy Game. My Pet Hooligan was recognized as Best Action Game, Pixels for Best Casual Game, and Mighty Action Heroes as Best Mobile Game.
“This is the third year we run these awards, and we really wanted to do something special this time,” said Omar Ghanem, co-founder and CEO of GAM3S.GG. “The Philippines has long been one of the main hubs for web3 gaming, and some of the earliest adopters and most passionate community members are based right here. That’s why it only feels right that our first-ever physical version of the GAM3 Awards takes place at the heart of Manila — the heart of web3 gaming.”
