WEMADE has launched a global teaser page for Legend of YMIR, its upcoming MMORPG based on Norse mythology. The teaser went live on June 16, signaling the company’s next move to take the title beyond South Korea following its strong local performance.
Good to know
Legend of YMIR is set in a world where Ragnarok, the cyclical end of all things, occurs every 9,000 years. The storyline draws directly from Norse mythology, with the gameplay structured around events leading up to this world-ending battle.
The title initially launched in Korea on February 20 and quickly climbed to the top of domestic app store rankings, both in downloads and revenue. Now WEMADE is preparing for a global release, with added blockchain layers built into the international version.
Under the slogan PLAY YMIR, EARN WEMIX, the global edition of the game will allow players to earn WEMIX tokens through in-game progress. While full details of the tokenomics will be outlined on the teaser site, WEMADE confirmed that blockchain integration includes a limited coin economy for crafting and upgrading gear.
Players will also encounter Non-Fungible Items (NFIs)—unique digital items that cannot be copied or counterfeited. These assets give players more value and control over what they earn in-game, helping to extend ownership beyond traditional inventory systems.
With the full release scheduled for later in the year, WEMADE is inviting players worldwide to subscribe to the Legend of YMIR teaser page. The site will serve as the hub for all game-related news, including release timelines, tokenomics breakdowns, and access information.
