G2, a global esports and entertainment powerhouse, has announced the return of its football team G2 FC to Kings League Germany for the 2025 season. The team officially kicked off its campaign on October 12 in Cologne, following a strong debut that saw G2 FC finish third in the league, qualify for the Kings League World Cup, and become the second most-watched team in Germany, according to Esports Charts.
Good to Know
The second season of Kings League Germany launched with a high-energy event at MMC Studios Cologne, revealing the new rosters, kits, and content plans for 2025. The tournament, part of the global 7-a-side Kings League created by Gerard Piqué in 2022, has quickly become one of Europe’s most innovative sports entertainment projects. The league combines competitive football with digital storytelling, influencer involvement, and live fan interaction.
The winner of the German competition will advance to the European Final in Berlin, where teams from Spain and Italy will compete for continental glory at the Velodrom.
Returning to the field with tactical continuity and fresh energy, G2 FC aims to improve on its strong first season. Manager Ron Stublla, known for his background in sports management and Youth Bundesliga experience, continues to lead with structure and discipline. He is joined by Head Coach Malik Hadziavdic, a former German National Futsal Team player and FC Liria Berlin athlete, who brings deep tactical insight and practical playing experience.
The club also introduces new presidents: Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous, a world champion EAFC player and five-time German champion, and Konygebony, a well-known German rapper and lifestyle influencer. Their presence highlights G2’s focus on blending digital culture, music, and sports to attract a broader fanbase.
Veterans Tarik Hadziavdic, Kevin Moreira, Ahmed Omeirat, and Cihan Ucar return to the squad, joined by new talents who earned their spots through open trials held earlier this year in Berlin.
The 2025 season also marks G2’s 10-year anniversary, a decade that transformed the organization into a global leader across esports, content, and entertainment. G2 maintains partnerships with major brands such as Mastercard, Red Bull, Ralph Lauren, Jägermeister, and Herman Miller, reflecting its position as a bridge between competitive gaming and mainstream culture.
In Germany, G2 continues to hold strong fan support, with 46.33% of esports fans naming G2 as their favorite team. This connection drives the organization’s strategy in the Kings League, merging football and esports into one dynamic fan experience that thrives across both digital and live environments.
Innovation at the Core
Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2, said:
“Our debut season in Kings League Germany demonstrated the potential of combining esports and traditional sports. For Season 2, we are focused on delivering new content, connecting with fans in innovative ways, and pushing the boundaries of what sports entertainment can achieve. G2 FC perfectly aligns to our long-term vision of blending competitive performance with storytelling and digital innovation for the next generation of sports fans.”
