Game Builders Get New Tools as Farcade Rebrands to Remix

Share

Remix is here. The platform formerly known as Farcade has a new name, a fresh direction, and a big new feature called Snap Apps—designed to help top game creators share their games more easily across the web and beyond.

Good to know

  • Farcade has officially rebranded to Remix.
  • Snap Apps turn high-performing games into standalone, shareable apps.
  • No coding, game engines, or funding required to qualify.

With the rebrand, Remix is aiming to simplify Web3 game creation and distribution. Its new Snap Apps feature gives eligible games their own clean URL, custom domain, and standalone listing. That means creators can launch their games across platforms like Base, Farcaster, and World App without building anything new.

Games that meet Remix’s performance requirements—1000+ plays, 500+ unique players, 25+ favorites, and a 4+ rating—can be turned into a Snap App for free. Once live, these games become instantly shareable, easier to market, and equipped with features like push notifications and analytics.

The Remix team explained their vision clearly:

“We want you to dominate creation & distribution of games in a way never before seen. We’re not here to be another game engine, or app store. Snap Apps are the tool for new age game creators to do that.”

Remix already powers over 800 games and has brought in more than 500,000 players. The entire platform runs on AI, allowing anyone to build games just by typing prompts in plain English. There is no software to install or code to write.

Creators also get a shot at token rewards through an upcoming airdrop. The more active you are—whether building games, bringing in players, or climbing leaderboards—the more points you earn. There are also regular game jams with real prize pools from partner brands.

With a new name and the launch of Snap Apps, Remix is now offering something bigger than just game creation. It is building a full ecosystem where anyone can create, grow, and own their games—without barriers.
