The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) took a major step in advancing the esports industry by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Media Group’s National Institute for Esports Development (NIED) and VSPO, Asia’s largest esports company. This collaboration was formalized on August 25 during the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC24) held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
This three-way agreement represents a pivotal moment for the esports sector. By leveraging the unique strengths and resources of each organization, the partnership aims to foster innovation and growth within the sports culture industry, particularly focusing on esports and gaming. The MoU outlines a collaborative effort to enhance various aspects of esports in China, including event broadcasting on CCTV, the integration of advanced technologies, market expansion, and content promotion.
Key figures from each organization attended the signing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of this collaboration. Mr. Faisal Bin Homran, Chief Product Officer of the Esports World Cup Foundation, Mr. Xu Qiang, Director of the Youth Sports Programme Centre of China Media Group and Executive Vice President of NIED, and Dino Ying, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of VSPO, were present to endorse the agreement.
Faisal Bin Homran expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “I welcome this collaboration between the Esports World Cup Foundation, China Media Group’s National Institute for Esports Development, and VSPO. Together, with our combined platforms, expertise, and resources, we are confident we can elevate the industry to new heights and continue to engage and inspire fans and audiences throughout China.”
Similarly, Dino Ying highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying, “It’s a huge honor to be a strategic partner with the Chinese Media Group and the Esports World Cup Foundation. The establishment of the CMG National Institute for Esports Development marks another key sign of Beijing’s support for esports development.”
