The top 40 esports clubs that were approved into the Esports World Cup Foundation’s (EWCF) Club Partner Program were revealed. Through finance and increased audience participation, this project seeks to support esports organizations’ long-term success.
The initiative provides up to $1 million each club, with a $20 million overall budget. Clubs will use this funding to develop creative content and launch marketing initiatives in the run-up to the 2025 Esports World Cup.
The EWCF has supported brand expansion in order to ensure the financial viability of esports clubs from 2023. This strategy will be maintained in the 2025 edition, which will encourage the rise of fans worldwide through imaginative encounters and gripping narratives.
Partner clubs will provide captivating material, like as player documentaries, live fan experiences, and behind-the-scenes recordings. The goal of these initiatives is to reach the more than 300 million fans that support the teams collectively.
Faisal Bin Homran, Chief Product Officer at EWCF, emphasized the program’s significance. “This year’s 40 partnered Clubs represent a diverse and dynamic cross-section of global esports,” he stated. “By investing in their growth, the program will enable Clubs to expand their audience and reach, strengthen their brands, and gain greater visibility through fan-first content.”
The selected clubs represent regions with significant esports growth, particularly China, Japan, India, and LATAM. Tencent E-Sports facilitated the application process in China, resulting in the selection of six Chinese clubs:
Additionally, eStar joined the program under NIP. Together, these clubs engage over 125 million fans through gaming, entertainment, and lifestyle content.
Out of the 200 applicants, eight clubs received direct invitations based on their EWC 2024 Club Championship rankings. The remaining spots were filled through a rigorous selection process, which evaluated competitive performance, social media presence, and fan engagement.
Several key figures expressed their enthusiasm:
Membership in the Club Partner Program must be renewed annually. To guarantee a berth in the Esports World Cup 2025, which will once again be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, clubs must qualify through approved channels.
Clubs will compete in a cross-game style for a prize pool that might change their lives. The competition seeks to promote esport on a worldwide scale by uniting the top teams and athletes in the world.
