Guild Esports, owned by David Football great Beckham, announces the full launch of its Parental Power Up program in observance of Safer Internet Day. This program was developed from industry expertise to educate parents about the nuances of online gaming and provide them with the necessary tools to ensure their children’s safety when playing online.
Guild Esports understands the urgency of addressing parental concerns about online safety, as seen by a recent Ofcom analysis that shows a sizable portion of youngsters play video games online unsupervised. By teaching parents the fundamentals of gaming and providing them with an understanding of their children’s gaming world, the Parental Power Up program fosters a cooperative gaming environment that encourages skill development and safety.
Under the stewardship of Kit Brunswick, Guild Esports’ Head of Player Pathway and Safeguarding, the program incorporates popular gaming title Fortnite to facilitate skill-building activities. Integral to the program are safeguarding masterclasses aimed at enhancing both parental and children’s awareness of online security.
A member of the program’s pilot scheme named Jed Leicester commends the project for taking a holistic approach to mitigating possible dangers associated with online gaming settings. Leicester’s endorsement highlights how well the program bridges the gap between online gaming and real-world safety issues.
David Beckham’s Guild Esports is committed to more than just keeping people safe online. At the Sky Guild Gaming Centre, the company hosts educational courses on nutrition and mental health. CEO Jasmine Skee stresses the need of upskilling parents in tandem with their kids so they are knowledgeable about the esports industry and prepared to handle the changing gaming scene.
