Cambria, a risk-to-earn MMO that runs in the web, is coming to Abstract Chain. This addition to the game’s multi-chain experience is an expansion rather than a migration. More than 100,000 lifetime players have joined Cambria between Ronin and Blast, and the game volume has now surpassed $130 million. The game now seeks to attract a wider audience with the addition of Abstract.
The addition of Abstract to Cambria gives users more options for how to engage with the game. Soon, players will be able to play on Abstract if they prefer Pudgy Penguins’ blockchain to Ronin or Blast. The game is still playable on its previously supported chains, so current players don’t have to worry about moving assets.
By referring to Abstract as the “#1 consumer chain,” the official statement expresses confidence in its capacity to improve the gaming experience. Details regarding possible special incentives for Abstract users are still unknown, though. More details are anticipated in Season 2, so players are urged to remain tuned.
An AMA session has revealed key details about Cambria’s upcoming season. Scheduled for late February or early March, Season 2 will introduce major upgrades to the game’s economic model. A new feature called “gamble dungeons” will require costly keys to enter, offering high-risk, high-reward gameplay.
Additionally, the developers plan to reduce grinding while making the Duel Arena more event-driven. Players can expect weekend tournaments and game nights hosted by Abstract streamers, where participants will earn Abstract XP rewards.
Inspired by RuneScape, Cambria offers an immersive top-down fantasy world with blockchain-based stakes. Players engage in “degen-native” gameplay, featuring modes like Gold Rush and Duel Arena.
Cambria joined Ronin Forge in September 2024 after initially launching on Blast. Players were given four days of play-to-earn in November during the first season, which was an early alpha. Cambria Cores, which can be staked to earn Shards, could be minted by the community on Ronin by December. Companions, intelligent in-game followers that may now be traded for NFTs, are mintable with these Shards.
