Shohei Ohtani is making his way into Fortnite as the latest addition to the Icon Series. The two-way MLB star, who has been in the spotlight for more than just his on-field performances, will soon be available as an in-game skin. His arrival brings a unique set of cosmetics, including a Samurai-inspired look, making him the first baseball player to be featured in Fortnite.
The Icon Series has introduced various figures from sports, music, and gaming, but Ohtani’s inclusion marks a new direction for Fortnite. Other athletes, like soccer star Harry Kane, have been part of the game, but baseball has not yet been represented in this way. Ohtani’s skin will be available in multiple styles, reflecting both his baseball career and a creative reimagining of him as a Samurai warrior.

Fortnite’s collaboration with Ohtani arrives at a time when he is gaining attention beyond the baseball field. The release of his skin is set for March 17, aligning with a new set of in-game challenges. Players will have the chance to complete objectives linked to Ohtani, including using the Kneecapper weapon in Battle Royale.
