Share

By honoring its $4 billion investment pledge, Amazon demonstrated its continued support for Anthropic, a rapidly growing artificial intelligence business.

The massive tech company announced its most recent $2.75 billion investment, solidifying its minority ownership position in Anthropic. This action comes after the first $1.25 billion investment made by Amazon in September of last year.

Anthropic, a prominent participant in the AI space, was founded in 2021 by former members of OpenAI. Notably, it has created Claude, an AI chatbot, to compete with ChatGPT.

Claude 3, the most recent product from Anthropic, demonstrated its abilities by doing exceptionally well in both picture analysis and natural language processing.

Strategic Collaboration

Anthropic selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its main cloud provider for critical tasks, such as core model building and safety research, according to information released by Amazon.

Anthropic’s choice to employ Inferentia and AWS Trainium chips highlights its dedication to utilizing state-of-the-art technology. In order to develop, train, and implement future AI models, these resources will be essential.

Given how quickly the tech industry is changing, Amazon’s continuous investment in Anthropic shows how confident it is in the startup’s ability to influence AI going forward.
