Vlad Marinescu, who resigned from the role of Acting President, has been replaced by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, according to the International Esports Federation (IESF). This change underlines the dedication to advancing international esports and fostering cohesion across the international esports community.
After serving as the organization’s temporary Global Vice-President, HRH Prince Faisal will immediately take over as Acting President. The official election of the new president will occur during the forthcoming general assembly, where the IESF’s new leader will be chosen by a vote.
The expanding responsibilities of serving the international esports community led to Vlad Marinescu’s decision to resign as president. In recognition of HRH Prince Faisal’s continuous passion to esports, he has assigned this task to him since he feels that a higher degree of dedication is necessary to satisfy these objectives.
Marinescu expressed his vision for the future, saying, “I believe what we need now is a total unity of eSports at the international level, which will lead to recognition by the Olympic movement and closer relations with publishers. I believe that the right person to lead us to this unity is HRH Prince Faisal. He is a person that I respect and appreciate, who breathes and bleeds esports.”
HRH Prince Faisal expressed his gratitude for being given this important role within the IESF. He is dedicated to continue on the outstanding development made possible under Vlad’s direction in previous years. HRH Prince Faisal is excited about the potential to take the esports industry to new heights in the future.
In the IESF’s future attempts, he stressed the significance of strategy, governance, and growth. The group will keep putting together outstanding competitions and events that bring together top esports athletes and promote a welcoming environment of fair competition.
HRH Prince Faisal acknowledged the major contribution Vlad Marinescu’s thoughts and influence had to the achievement of the IESF and appreciated his work with Vlad. He thanked Vlad and wished him the best of luck in the future, echoing the sentiments of his colleagues.
HRH Prince Faisal will continue to serve as the Global Esports Federation’s Vice-President in addition to his acting presidency. He contributes a lot of information to the IESF thanks to his considerable experience and skills in the esports industry. Notably, he has successfully combined his duties as the IESF Global Vice-President with his leadership of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and the Arab Esports Federation (AEF) since its founding in 2017.
