A major step toward bolstering integrity and ethical standards within the esports industry has been taken with the announcement by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) of the formation of its Global Esports Industry Advisory Board. This advisory group is ideally situated to provide ESIC’s CEO with knowledgeable advice on important business issues.
The Advisory Board’s primary goal is to provide a strong foundation for justice and morality, creating a global norm for moral conduct and level playing field in esports. With the responsibility of offering strategic advice, developing fair play guidelines, interacting with important industry players, and promoting moral behavior, the board has the potential to have a significant influence.
ESIC has enlisted two distinguished figures to inaugurate the board:
David Neichel, Senior Vice President of Public & International Affairs at ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), brings over fifteen years of experience in the gaming industry, boasting significant roles at Activision-Blizzard and Electronic Arts. His expertise in international and public affairs is set to enrich the board’s deliberations. Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST, arrives with a wealth of experience from his tenure at Google and Disney, coupled with his leadership in major acquisitions. Recognized for his strategic acumen, Douek is instrumental in propelling esports into a prominent global entertainment sphere.
The formation of the Advisory Board underscores the unwavering commitment of its members to championing and upholding the highest integrity standards within esports. Assembled to convene as needed, the board is primed to tackle strategic challenges and ensure that ESIC’s initiatives remain responsive to industry demands.
