One of the longest-running esports leagues in North America, Complexity, has signed a big sponsorship deal with Sonic Labs, the blockchain startup behind the future Sonic layer-1 network. Sonic Labs will become Complexity’s exclusive blockchain sponsor as a result of this partnership, and team shirts will soon bear their logo.
Sonic Labs will support community game evenings and televised Counter-Strike 2 events, highlighting the partnership’s emphasis on fan connection. On the Sonic blockchain, Complexity also intends to create an application focused on the needs of fans. By interactive elements like a quest system with prizes, this app will let fans interact with their favorite teams and players.
Michael Kong, CEO of Sonic Labs, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We’re excited to partner with Complexity, one of the most visible esports organizations in the world, to bring awareness of Sonic to its global fanbase and showcase what a next generation of gaming fandom looks like.”
Sonic, a new layer-1 blockchain developed by former Fantom engineers, is expected to launch later this year. Designed for high-speed transactions and Ethereum compatibility, Sonic is poised to become a significant player in the blockchain space. The Complexity partnership will officially kick off with the Sonic Community Night on August 30, followed by its integration into Complexity’s NA Revival Series for Counter-Strike 2 in September. Although the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the collaboration represents a crucial step in blending blockchain technology with the esports industry.
Complexity founder and CEO Jason Lake shared his excitement about the partnership: “The Sonic Labs team is dedicated to bringing the excitement of gaming on-chain with the launch of Sonic later this year, and we’re excited to have them as an official sponsor to help realize that vision.”
