Two new Atlantic City casinos started their operations and opened their doors to the public on Wednesday afternoon. It is a day ahead of their slated grand openings.

At the Ocean Resort Casino, the casino which is being opened in place of the failed $2.5 billion Revel Resort, Rodney and Ingrid Peterson of Clifton Park, New York played the slots as they got a drink from a cocktail waitress, and were surprised to hear the idea that the casino had ever closed in the first place.

A sports bar nearby also prepared to take bets.

“This building is grand and it is unbelievable,” Rodney said. “To leave it and letting it go for getting wasted is crazy.”

After two new openings, the number of casinos in Atlantic City has now grown to nine.
