New Responsible Gaming Tools Now Available from AGA

The American Gaming Association (AGA) is introducing a fresh way for players to stay in control when betting. With the launch of the Play Smart Consumer Hub, the AGA wants to simplify how people approach responsible gaming by offering tools and tips that suit different playing styles.

The Play Smart Consumer Hub builds on AGA’s earlier initiative, Play Smart from the Start. This effort focuses on helping people understand their behaviors, learn the basics of betting, and make better decisions. It is all about making responsible gaming part of the regular experience, not something extra.

Bill Miller, president and CEO of the AGA, said, “The AGA is committed to making responsible gaming a seamless part of the player experience. Part of the fun of gaming is that everyone plays differently, but no matter how or where you play, staying in control starts with habits that work for you.”

Tools Built Around Player Behavior

Based on research into how people engage with gambling, the hub is organized around three simple ideas:

1. Right State of Mind – Make sure you feel focused, calm, and ready before playing.
2. Know the Game – Understand the rules and odds before placing bets.
3. Act Intentionally – Set limits, take breaks, and track your wins and losses.

To support those ideas, the website offers a pre-play checklist so players can prepare before placing any bets. There is also a “Know the Game” section, which helps explain things like how odds work and what the house edge really means.

For those unsure about their own behaviors, the Responsible Gaming IQ Quiz allows users to measure their current approach and learn whether they are staying within healthy limits.

Support for the Industry Too

The Consumer Hub does not stop at players. It also includes an Industry Toolkit aimed at operators and suppliers. This section includes messaging tips, communication templates, design assets, and activity suggestions to help businesses deliver responsible gaming messages more consistently.

“Whether an operator or supplier is building a new responsible gaming program or looking to refresh existing efforts, this toolkit makes it easy to deliver consistent, player-first messaging across every customer touchpoint,” Miller said.

The site also offers links to national help resources like 1-800-GAMBLER and self-exclusion programs for different states, giving players easy access to help when needed.
