Melco Resorts & Entertainment, a global Hong Kong-based developer, operator, and owner of casino gaming and entertainment resorts, has announced that City of Dreams Mediterranean will officially open on July 10, 2023. This grand opening signifies the first integrated resort (IR) in Europe.
Situated minutes away from the bustling city center of Limassol, Cyprus, the City of Dreams Mediterranean boasts an array of luxurious amenities. The resort features 500 exquisite guest rooms and suites, including the largest Presidential Suite on the island. Each room showcases a blend of Mediterranean influences and Melco’s high standards, offering private balconies with breathtaking views of the Akrotiri Salt Lake, Troodos Mountain range, and Lady’s Mile Beach.
In addition to luxurious accommodation, the resort houses Europe’s largest casino, equipped with popular table games, a dedicated poker area, modern slot machines, and live entertainment. The Platinum Club offers VIP members an additional level of signature service.
Eight restaurants and bars, helmed by Executive Chef Olivier Belliard, will offer a diverse array of culinary delights. Highlights include Pan-Asian fusion by Amber Dragon, Middle Eastern specialties by Aura, European contemporary by Anaïs, and authentic Mediterranean flavors by Oléa. Interactive cooking demonstrations and produce from the on-site organic garden will elevate the dining experience.
Families can enjoy the largest resort pool complex in Cyprus, an adventure park featuring a zip line and trampoline area, and the exhilarating Waverider. The Kids City, a kids’ club for ages 4-12, offers a variety of creative and engaging activities.
The resort boasts 8,000 sq. meters of indoor and outdoor event space, capable of hosting everything from large weddings to conferences and concerts. It includes a Grand Ballroom, multifunctional Forum, modern meeting rooms, and a Roman-style amphitheater. Renu Spa & Fitness, inspired by the award-winning Morpheus Spa in City of Dreams Macau, focuses on rejuvenating treatments.

City of Dreams Mediterranean aims to redefine contemporary luxury resorts. The development received a BREEAM Excellent rating at the design stage, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. This new standard is expected to transform the island’s tourism and hospitality sector, with other investors likely to follow suit.
Before the grand opening, Melco will host a special soft opening period for the hotel on June 12, 2023.

Melco Resorts, which also operates casino resorts in Macau and the Philippines, reported a budget of US$575 million to US$600 million for City of Dreams Mediterranean. According to Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, Melco Resorts chairman and CEO, the successful operation of temporary and satellite casinos in Cyprus has shown strong demand in the region.
The opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean is expected to significantly benefit Cyprus’s economy by attracting more tourists and creating new job opportunities.
