Connecticut to Pass Casino-Related bill, to Expande the State’s Gambling Industry

Share

Connecticut is preparing to pass two casino-related bills, this would provide for an expansion of the state’s gambling industry.

It’s due to the neighbouring state; Massachusetts building casino resorts, that could possibly steal the clientele from the 2 Las Vegas styled casino.

If signed into law, the long deliberated Senate bill, it would give the two federally recognised tribes the Mohegans and the Mashantucket Pequots- the right to jointly build and operate an off-reservation casino in the town of East Windsor.

This is intended to stop the casino patrons to change their loyalties by rushing to the $950-million resort, currently under construction which is set to be launched in September 2018. The two tribes are hopeful their project would complete before that.

The bill related to the East Windsor Casino needs approval from the House. Even though the House amends the bill, it would still have to be approved by Senate; for the changes. This may slow the process down of converting it into a law.
