Entain has confirmed Stella David as its new chief executive officer, ending a series of interim transitions and bringing a familiar face back into the top role. The decision comes after David held the CEO position in an interim capacity twice over the past year. Good to know Stella David has officially stepped in as Entain’s new chief executive, following two interim stints. Her leadership background includes roles at Bacardi, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and William Grant & Sons. Entain reported 9% net gaming revenue growth in Q1, with BetMGM performance helping drive results. She first stepped in temporarily after Jette Nygaard-Andersen’s departure in late 2023, and again in February 2025 after Gavin Isaacs exited the company. In April 2024, she also briefly served as Entain’s chair before taking over executive duties. Her latest appointment is effective immediately. Pierre Bouchut, currently serving as interim chair, welcomed the decision: “The board is delighted to have appointed Stella as CEO. She is an accomplished and commercial business leader with a long track record of success across multiple industries.” David has been involved with Entain since 2021, initially joining as a non-executive director. Her career includes leadership roles such as CEO of William Grant & Sons and board positions at Norwegian Cruise Lines and Domino’s. She also held senior roles at Bacardi, including chief marketing officer and regional president. In a statement, David said she looks forward to steering Entain through its next phase: “Entain has a clear strategy and we are making great strides in strengthening our operational capabilities. I am hugely excited to be leading the business going forward as Entain CEO as we accelerate our journey of improvement.” Her appointment comes at a time of positive momentum for the company. Entain recently posted a rise in net gaming revenue for the full 2024 year. The boost was largely driven by growth in online operations and strong results from BetMGM, its joint venture in the U.S. Bouchut added that her steady presence has already played an important role in supporting the company’s broader goals: “She is highly regarded by our stakeholders. Stella has played a pivotal role in shaping, implementing and executing the ongoing delivery of Entain’s strategy to drive value for our shareholders.”
