W Las Vegas is on the verge of rebranding itself as part of the W Hotels portfolio under Marriott Bonvoy. This exciting development comes after a strategic agreement between MGM Resorts International and Marriott International. The transition is expected to complete by the end of this year. In July 2023, MGM Resorts and Marriott signed a long-term licensing agreement, marking the beginning of their partnership. This collaboration led to the creation of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, officially launched in October 2023. Following this, both companies began accepting reservations for 16 hotel and resort destinations through Marriott’s website and app in March 2024. The transformation of W Las Vegas signifies an expansion of the MGM Collection, bringing the total number of destinations on the Las Vegas Strip to 12. This strategic shift enhances the brand's presence in a competitive market. Elevating Guest Experiences Steve Zanella, President of Operations at MGM Resorts, expressed optimism about the partnership. "Our relationship with Marriott has far exceeded our expectations," he stated. "W Las Vegas, the latest hotel to come to life as part of our collaboration, will allow our guests to access a new luxury lifestyle experience recognized worldwide for its distinct personality, dynamic programming and elevated service culture." The rebranding aims to provide guests with a unique and luxurious experience. With W Hotels known for its vibrant nightlife and bold design, W Las Vegas is poised to attract a new clientele seeking high-end accommodations in the heart of the Strip. Leeny Oberg, CFO and EVP of Development at Marriott International, shared her enthusiasm for the project.
