Ultra to Pioneer Resellable Digital PC Games with Tokenized Licenses

Ultra, a top PC marketplace that serves both traditional and blockchain gamers, is about to launch a ground-breaking feature that lets customers resale digital PC games by using tokenized licenses. This ground-breaking project is in line with Ultra’s dedication to gaming industry innovation and user-friendly experiences.

With the release of “Josh Journey: Darkness Totems,” a well-liked beat-’em-up game created by Provincia Studio, Ultra will debut this feature on Wednesday. This humorous game, which was previously accessible on a number of platforms, will now be made available via Ultra’s platform, including a special feature for reselling.

Users who purchase “Josh Journey” will have the option to list the game on Ultra’s secondary marketplace when they wish to part ways with it. This resale option brings a new dynamic to digital game ownership, allowing players to transfer their digital game licenses to other users seamlessly.

Tokenized Licenses and NFT Integration

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Ultra’s layer-1 blockchain, a fork of the EOS network, represent the digital licenses for these games. The NFT—which Ultra refers to as “Uniq”—is passed to the new owner during the sales procedure, giving them the authorization to play the game legally. A level of ownership and transferability not before seen in the gaming business is introduced by this NFT-based approach.

Co-founder of Provincia Studio Guilherme Araujo expressed excitement at being a part of this ground-breaking project. He underlined that being the first tradable game on Ultra Games, “Josh Journey” offers insights into a novel business strategy that boosts income streams and generates fresh prospects.

Reselling digital games is a persistent problem that Ultra’s tokenization program seeks to solve as the PC gaming industry transitions to an entirely digital environment. Co-founder and co-CEO of Ultra, Nicolas Gilot, emphasized the benefits of tokenization, pointing out that all titles on their PC shop have been successfully tokenized since July.

Gilot reported on ongoing investigations into new features, such token-gated advantages that would enable developers to provide exclusive content, future game discounts, and entry to esports events. With this innovative project, Ultra hopes to show how blockchain technology may improve value and fairness in a variety of digital content formats.
