Gala Games has launched Mercantorium, a native GalaChain marketplace built for game items and NFTs. The platform gives players one place to browse, list, and trade assets without relying on scattered external tools.
Good to know
Mercantorium gives Gala Games a more direct way to support player-to-player asset trading. Instead of pushing users between separate marketplaces, wallets, or informal trading channels, the new hub keeps activity inside the GalaChain ecosystem.
That setup can make trading easier for players who already use Gala Games products. It also reduces reliance on off-platform deals, which can bring more risk in web3 gaming when users trade through direct messages, social groups, or third-party pages.
The core function is simple: players can trade game items and NFTs through on-chain transactions. That gives each deal a public record and keeps ownership changes tied to the chain.
Gala Games started in 2019 under founder Eric Schiermeyer and first gained attention through Town Star. The wider ecosystem now includes games, Gala Music, Gala Film, and the GALA utility token.
GalaChain was created to fit that entertainment network rather than depend fully on Ethereum-based trading. Earlier Gala asset activity included NFT trades and bridging on Ethereum, but Mercantorium brings more of that market activity back into GalaChain.
