Ubisoft and the Starknet Foundation have partnered to launch an educational initiative aimed at incorporating Web3 technologies into game production. The initiative, which will run from March 5 to April 9, 2025, will assist developers in making the shift from Web2 (conventional gaming) to Web3 (blockchain-driven experiences).
The program will focus on game design, programming, marketing, and monetization in the evolving blockchain gaming space. Starknet Foundation will lead weekly webinars on Zoom, scheduled for 5 PM CET (8 AM EST), ensuring accessibility for participants across different time zones. These sessions will cover topics like asset creation, game mechanics, and how blockchain technology can reshape player experiences.
The initiative will feature insights from experienced professionals in both gaming and blockchain. Ubisoft’s Guillaume Blossier, Louis Garoche, and Diep Tran will share their expertise alongside leaders from The Sandbox, Decentraland, and Web3 gaming firm Cartridge. Discussions will highlight blockchain’s role in game development and strategies for fostering engaged gaming communities in decentralized environments.
Starknet Foundation’s executive director, James Strudwick, emphasized the importance of learning from both Web2 and Web3 gaming models. He noted that while traditional game development follows a structured approach, Web3 introduces new possibilities for player interaction, ownership, and revenue models. Through this partnership with Ubisoft, the initiative aims to create a knowledge-sharing platform that will help shape the gaming industry’s future.
This collaboration marks a major step in bringing blockchain technology closer to mainstream game development. By engaging with industry experts and exploring new possibilities, developers can better understand how Web3 can revolutionize gaming.
