Share

Esports production giant BLAST is setting up a base in New York to strengthen its presence in North America. Known for hosting major tournaments like BLAST Premier and FNCS, the company is moving into one of the biggest esports markets in the world with plans to open its new office in 2025.

The new U.S. presence is expected to help coordinate logistics, content, and local collaborations more effectively, making it easier for BLAST to stage even more events on American soil.

Good to know

  • The New York office will be BLAST’s operational hub for North America.
  • Chief Business Officer Leo Matlock is relocating to help oversee the expansion.
  • BLAST plans to host 15 international LAN events in 2025, including the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

After building its roots in Denmark in 2016, BLAST has been expanding internationally. Offices in London and Berlin helped the company establish a strong European foundation, and now New York is the next stop. The company also recently joined forces with Reliance in India, planning to open an office in Mumbai later this year. That location will focus on mobile gaming and support events and content production in South Asia.

Tapping into the US market

North America is a key growth area for esports, and BLAST is preparing to deepen its engagement. Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer, will be based in New York to lead the setup and expansion of the U.S. operations. He said:

“We have some incredible live events coming up across North America this year and are excited to continue to advocate this unmatched fandom and to work with national and local partners and brands, creating a positive impact everywhere we are. This move further adds to our global expansion efforts in 2025, with offices opening in India and the U.S. this year.”

By placing leadership on the ground, BLAST is clearly aiming to work closely with regional partners, sponsors, and fans to grow its event lineup and brand visibility.

The move comes as BLAST ramps up its global event calendar. The company is expected to run 15 international LAN tournaments next year. Among the most anticipated is the BLAST.tv Austin Major in the U.S., the company’s second CS Major. BLAST also has experience working with top-tier titles including Rocket League, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, and Dota 2.
