Team Liquid has officially taken a bigger step into EA FC esports by acquiring Dutch-based academy Team Gullit. While the financial terms have not been disclosed, the move brings Team Gullit’s players and staff fully under the Team Liquid brand.
Good to know
With this deal, Team Liquid is strengthening its place in EA FC competition. Although the Team Gullit name will no longer appear in competitive brackets, its legacy will remain visible. Players will now compete as Team Liquid but will wear jerseys with orange accents—a nod to both Team Gullit’s original branding and the Netherlands, the home country for both organizations.
Some of Team Gullit’s long-time partners will continue the journey under the new banner. Philips OneBlade, for instance, will stay involved with the EA FC roster, signaling a smooth transition rather than a complete overhaul.
Team Liquid brings a solid esports infrastructure that could help scale Team Gullit’s previous efforts. Corné Dubelaar, who founded Team Gullit in 2018, sees this move as a positive step forward. He explained:
“Over the last 7 years, we created a juggernaut in the EA FC scene. We won every possible trophy and created a huge fanbase. I’m very pleased Team Liquid acquired the organization because this is a step in the right direction towards long-term domination of the game. Team Liquid’s infrastructure, resources, and experience will help achieve that.”
Team Liquid and Team Gullit had already built a working relationship in 2024 when they entered the Esports World Cup together. That collaboration now becomes permanent, with the same coaching staff and strategic approach continuing under Team Liquid’s umbrella.
