Binance Takes on Crypto Celebrities in Super Bowl Ad Campaign, “Do Your Own Research”

Share

With Super Bowl LVI coming up this Sunday, all eyes are on advertisement, especially crypto ad campaigns with major exchanges like FTX and Crypto.com already having secured slots during the largest televised sporting event on the globe.

In anticipation of the marketing feast, also dubbed ‘Crypto Bowl’, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by volume, Binance, kicked off its own take on advertisement as it ‘warns’ people not to listen to celebrities for financial advice.

The exchange has already released its first video with Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler saying that:

“I can give you advice on a lot of things. Your money isn’t one of them.”

Binance’s campaign’s slogan is straightforward, “trust yourself” and not the celebrities on screen.

On Monday, Binance released a second video with reggaeton star J Balvin telling the people that he is learning about crypto too. “Don’t ask me”, he says, “do your own research”.

Last week, the first episode of the Southpark 25th season took on Crypto.com celebrity endorser Matt Damon and the ‘fortune favors the brave’ campaign, with one of the characters saying:

“We just have to be brave.” “But not too brave or else Matt Damon will come and take all our money.”

In order to fuel its campaign fire, Binance calls on its followers to use #CryptoCelebAlert on Twitter for every ad aired during the game with a celebrity talking about crypto
