Strategy (MSTR) bought 250 Bitcoin for about $22 million in its fourth consecutive weekly purchase, bringing total holdings to 848,250 BTC.
Good To Know
Strategy has paired renewed Bitcoin buying with changes to its capital management. Its BTC monetization program allows sales to support cash reserves, dividends and securities repurchases.
Chairman Michael Saylor reported the STRC buyback on Monday. The perpetual preferred stock carries a 12.00% annual dividend rate, while Strategy targets a trading range near its $100 stated amount. Repurchasing preferred shares can reduce future dividend obligations, providing context for the buyback alongside Bitcoin accumulation.
Meanwhile, the latest BTC purchase follows $248 million of buying during the preceding three weeks. Across all four purchases, Strategy added 3,199 Bitcoin for roughly $270 million.
The company began selling Bitcoin again during the summer, its first sales since 2022. Those transactions prompted questions about the “never sell” message Saylor had long promoted.
He said his position concerned personal holdings:
“When I say ‘Never Sell Your Bitcoin,’ I speak as one saver to another. I have never sold mine. Not one satoshi. Strategy is a public company, not my wallet. Since 2020, it has disclosed it may buy or sell BTC to manage capital. Our shared conviction in Bitcoin remains unchanged.”
